The La Selle Grange Bag
$640.00

La Selle (French for saddle) is the second piece in the Grange Bag series. A play on the classic saddle bag, La Selle is wild & elegant. A surreal juxtaposition for the surrealist of times. Grand in statement but demurely fits under your arm; the modern-day clutch.

Made from one continuous shearling shape and backed in a sumptuous plum & olive silk/cotton wale. The shearling meets the side gusset shape created from a floral chinoiserie silk satin jacquard that also forms the base of the bag. Harkening back to my New York City subway days, the fabric encloses the top opening, in an envelope-like closure, so you never feel too exposed. Strap detailing surrounds the bag and threads into the vintage mother of pearl buckle.

The Grange Bag is the statement bag, bar none.

**This item is sold out. Please contact me with any questions.

The Grange bag is our newest concept — unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that celebrate the inherent beauty of the material.

Obi, 1, the inaugural, one-of-a-kind Grange Bag.  This bag gets its name from the beautiful, deconstructed vintage obi (aka as the kimono belt) that creates the back of the bag.  The front is formed by the gorgeous shearling's long & rich pile of natural colored wool.  A drawstring closures, laden with vintage mother of pearl buttons keeps your items safe inside.

The Grange Bag is the statement bag, bar none.

The inside is lined in a beautiful & slightly shimmering basketweave cotton/linen. The strap has an oversized hook & eye, allowing you to hold the bag over your wrist or extend the length for a more dangling effect. We believe in choice, whatever works for you.

Eleanor Grange Bag
$175.00

(Return to Handbags)

(Return to Flea Market)

I found this threadbare vintage frame bag (shown in images) at a favorite flea market. In need of some major TLC, I sculpted this new design, the Eleanor Grange Bag, using my stash of beautiful remnant pieces.

A perfect length of bi-color wool shearling wraps around the satin bag shape, exposing the corners and allowing for the rich fuschia color to ground the bag. A layer of tissue silk lining, and some red grosgain ribbon finish off the inside of the bag. And a small leather detail was added to the chain strap to make for a more graceful (ie comfortable) hold.

Ornate metal frame shows signs of wear that honor the bag’s history but still leave room for more memorable evenings to come.

One-of-a-kind, upcycled and ready for the return to nightlife, just in time for the holidays.

Eleanor measures 9'“ l x 8” w; not including chain strap.

The Friedan Grange Bag
$340.00

The Friedan Bag is the third one-of-a-kind piece in our Grange Bag series. Engineered placement of the chocolate & blonde shearling pieces creates the graphic effect. The chocolate wool is crimped and curly while the blonde wool is long, smooth & airy. The contrasting textures and colors balance one another, merging to create a luxury, statement piece. Handle fits comfortably on the shoulder or hooked around wrist.

Backed and trimmed in double layers of heavy silk satin jacquard, featuring delicate cherry blossom stems & Chinese seal stamping. Vintage mother of pearl buttons and handpicked stitches add an additional layer of detail. The Jacob shearling is from animals raised ethically, in the North Bay under regenerative agrarian practices which draw carbon into our soil, providing for earth & soil health.

“These unique pieces are

that I call ‘Grange Bags’ — handmade designs that celebrate the process of ‘making’ and are of earth-friendly material choices.”

To upcycle means we actually create a ‘better’ piece than the original. I mingle vintage jacquards, Japanese obis, and other rich fabrics with these stunning shearlings which support Carbon Farming on Northern California ranches.

The resulting piece is made to last; a one-of, celebrating you and the landscape from which the materials came.v
