Our Woolen Armor Collars, at Fog City Flea Trading Post,

My ‘Woolen Armor’ collars—surreal in title, but warm & healing in reality.

I have always believed that Feminism and personal style were not at odds; rather, the combination sets the stage for greatness.

Collars & the women who wear them.

My ‘Woolen Armor’ collars—surreal in title, but warm & healing in reality. Made of natural materials; rich in color, with a wildness intent on grounding the wearer in nature even when they might be living within the most urban center.

And, as they are part of a regenerative agricultural process,
they provide healing to Mother Earth.

That, to me, is a true luxury item.

Consider it a uniform piece as they go with everything—an elevated statement that somehow works with denim to evening and everything in between. Like our lives, where we can be anything we choose or go anywhere we like (at least before Covid19), it occurred to me that a good deal of our freedoms and an appreciation of collars, we owe to the Notorious RBG.

With Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death, I recognized a clearer connection between my designs & her life’s work.

Clothing, our cultural armor, provides a clue as to how we think, and how we navigate the world.  RBG’s collars did exactly that. Her choice of collar from her own expansive collection that she acquired through her world travels, hinted as to which direction her opinions would go. They also reminded the nation of her historic stature—the second woman ever to be appointed to the Supreme Court.
She chose not to be a woman in a man’s robe.
Instead she boldly brought her femininity to her impressive position.

RBG believed a woman did not have to forgo her feminine qualities to compete in a ‘man’s’ world. Instead, she worked to create one world, where women & men were both contenders.

The 'evening out of rights' for men & women, as RBG so elegantly described her work, made the life I live possible, and on most days, so seamless, that I take the hard fought rights for granted.  That doesn’t mean that I, as a woman, haven’t known obstacles. But I have been able to creatively construct a life that meets my passions.

We stand on the shoulders of giants, even when said giant is just 5’1.

And for that, I owe RBG a debt of gratitude.

Here, I celebrate women, in their collars of my designs—made of Climate Beneficial™ Wool, sustainable and transformative for our world.  Not unlike the women themselves.  These women are friends, colleagues, innovators, and forces of creativity & mastery within their chosen fields.   I look forward to sharing each unique story as to how they live their most authentic life.

Compliments of the Notorious RBG.

The women who wear our collars.
